Our 8 Step Collision Repair

Initial Assessment/Damage
Evaluation

Inspections of the vehicle are thoroughly made to assess the extent of the damage. This may include visual inspections of the exterior, interior, frame, and any other affected areas.

Blueprinting of
repair plan

Initial contact and communications made to insurance company for approval.

  • Based on the findings, a comprehensive repair plan is created. This includes a list of parts to be replaced or repaired, labor estimates, and timeframes for completing the work. Once Blueprint has been made it is shared with the customer and the insurance company for approval before the repair process begins.

Ordering And
Receiving Parts

The shop may contact multiple suppliers to source the correct parts, considering availability, quality, and cost. In some cases, OEM (original equipment manufacturer) parts are preferred, but aftermarket options might also be used. Upon receiving the parts, the body shop inspects them to ensure they are the correct items, free of damage, and meet the required specifications. If any issues are found, the shop may return the parts and reorder replacements.

Paint/Refinish

Surface preparation of the damaged areas are cleaned, sanded, and primed to ensure proper paint adhesion. The technician matches the paint color to achieve the vehicles OEM color and finish. The paint is applied in layers, typically starting with a base coat, followed by color coats. Each layer is carefully sprayed to achieve a uniform and durable finish. After the color is applied, a clear coat is added to protect the paint and provide a glossy, smooth surface. The paint is allowed to cure in a heated booth, to ensure it hardens and adheres properly. Once the paint is fully dry, the vehicle is polished to remove any imperfections and give the surface a shiny, smooth appearance.

Assembly

After the repairs have been completed, all removed parts, such as doors, bumpers, lights, and trim, are reinstalled. The technician ensures that all parts are properly aligned, adjusted, and fit securely. Any mechanical systems that were repaired or replaced, such as windows, locks, or electrical components, are tested to confirm they function correctly.

Detail

The vehicle is thoroughly washed to remove any dust, dirt, or debris accumulated during the repair process. This includes cleaning wheels, tires, and trim. The interior is vacuumed, surfaces are wiped down, and any upholstery or carpeting is cleaned. This ensures the vehicle looks fresh and well-maintained inside. All windows, mirrors, and glass surfaces are cleaned for clarity and a spotless finish. Final detailing enhances the vehicle's appearance, ensuring it is clean, polished, and ready for delivery to the customer.

Final Inspections and
Quality Control

A thorough check is performed on all repairs, including body work, mechanical components, and paint to ensure everything meets the shop’s standards. All systems that were repaired or replaced, such as lights, electrical components, and mechanical parts, are tested to confirm they are working properly. The paint is checked for smoothness, consistency, and proper color matching. Any imperfections, such as chips or runs, are addressed. The vehicle is inspected to ensure that all safety features, including airbags, seatbelts, and structural integrity, are intact and functioning as intended. A final quality control check ensures the vehicle is in optimal condition and ready for customer delivery.

Pickup and
Review

The shop notifies the customer that the repairs are complete, and the vehicle is ready for pickup. The customer is given a brief overview of the repairs performed, including any parts replaced, paint work, or mechanical fixes. The customer is encouraged to inspect the vehicle to ensure they are satisfied with the repairs and detailing. Any concerns or questions are addressed at this time. The customer makes the final payment for the repairs, and any necessary paperwork, such as invoices, warranties, or insurance documents, is provided. Once payment and documentation are complete, the vehicle is handed back to the customer, who can now drive away with their fully repaired vehicle.
